Hostility resumes as Arsenal battle West Ham, plus exciting LaLiga, Serie A fixtures

Football fans are in for a treat this weekend as games from the English Premier League, the Spanish LaLiga and the Italian Serie A  matches resumes this weekend.

This weekend’s action begins with the Premier League encounter between Arsenal and West Ham at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Arsenal are enjoying a resurgence under manager Mikel Arteta and are currently placed in 10th position. The Gunners are, however, miles away from a European spot but will hope that a continuous winning streak can take them closer to a UEFA Europa League spot. On the other hand, West Ham moved out of the relegation zone following their home win over Southampton last week. However, a loss could send the Hammers back into the relegation zone.

A fascinating game lies in prospect in the Serie A when the defending champions, Juventus will travel to face Bologna Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Sunday. The game will be aired live on SuperSport Select 5 at 6pm.

Juventus have not been in action since losing to Lyon in the Champions League on February 26 and manager Maurizio Sarri will galvanise his Old Lady troops to return to winning ways and overtake Lazio as the league leaders. Bologna, however, have enjoyed a respectable performance this season and are eyeing for a European spot. A win for I Rossoblù at home against the defending champions will definitely bolster Joey Saputo’s team for the remainder of the season.

Also on Sunday, Real Betis will host Real Madrid at Benito Villamarín Stadium.  Real Betis have been struggling this season, losing two and drawing three of their last five games and placed in 14th position.

Manager Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia, popularly known as Rubi, will be hoping that his team can begin to win games and avoid dropping into the relegation zone. Los Verdiblancos will, however, meet a Real Madrid side that wants to consolidate its league position as table-toppers following their win over Barcelona last week. Los Blancos have bounced back from a temporary setback and manager Zinedine Zidane and his team have the chance to pick three points ahead from the game and reemphasise their title intentions.
