Fenerbahçe S.K. presidential candidate Aziz Yildirim has revealed the Turkish giants are prepared to launch a sensational €90 million move for departing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah ahead of next month’s club elections.

Speaking during a live interview on TRT Spor, Yildirim disclosed the enormous financial commitment required to bring the Egyptian superstar to Istanbul but insisted the club would pursue the transfer if deemed a priority under his leadership.

“Salah reportedly wants a salary of €20 million. With taxes, that rises to €30 million,” Yildirim said.

“He would want a three-year contract, which means a total cost of €90 million. If that is our urgent need, we will sign him.”

Salah left Liverpool following a legendary nine-year spell at Anfield that established him among the greatest players in the club’s modern history.

The Egyptian forward won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and FIFA Club World Cup during his time with Liverpool while scoring more than 250 goals for the English club.

His future has become one of the biggest storylines of the summer transfer window, with clubs from Saudi Arabia and Europe monitoring his situation after Liverpool confirmed his departure as a free agent.

During the 2025/26 campaign, Salah made 41 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists.

Yildirim, who served as Fenerbahce president between 1998 and 2018, is seeking a return to power as he contests the upcoming elections against businessman Hakan Safi.
