Flick, 61, could guide Barcelona to back-to-back La Liga titles with a win or a draw against Real Madrid.

The former Bayern Munich and Germany manager has already won four trophies with Barcelona since replacing Xavi in May 2024.

Real Madrid also paid tribute in a statement, saying: “Real Madrid, its president and its directors deeply regret the death of the father of Hansi Flick.

“Real Madrid wants to express its condolences and affection to his family and all their loved ones. Rest in peace.”
