The Ekofootball Premier Skills Nigeria 2014 is an initiative of the British Council in partnership with the English Premier League (UK) and Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) with support from the Ministry of Education Lagos State to promote women football and development.
The objective of the programme is to give opportunities to young girl-footballers who are often vulnerable in society to better integrate their communities, develop their skills and raise their self-worth through the knowledge acquired during the training. It is also an avenue to develop women football in Lagos State.
Six educational districts in Lagos State government schools, 26 teachers will be recruited and equipped with football skills, child protection law/child right that will used to cascade three hundred young secondary school girls from age 13-16 years scheduled to kick off October 4th 2014 and runs for nine Saturday.
Trained teachers as assigned in support of Premier skills and LSFA coordinator will facilitate the designated training centres accordingly.
