Colombia grabbed top spot in World Cup Group H after closing out a crucial 1-0 victory over Senegal, who missed out to Japan for the second place.

Barcelona defender, Yerry Mina scored the game’s only goal in the 74th minute in a very even contest, and on such fine margins Colombia took first place in a group they far from dominated.

Senegal rather cruelly miss out on progressing through to the last 16 with Japan having a superior fair-play record when otherwise tied.

The referee had overturned his original decision to award a penalty to Senegal after consulting the video assistant referee system in the 17th minute.
