Two Nigerian brothers will face each other in a Serie A match between Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta and Samuel Chukwueze AC Milan side at the Gewiss Stadium on Saturday, December 9.

The two Nigeria internationals will be representing Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in January, but on Saturday evening, they will become enemies on the field.

Milan defeated Frosinone 3-1 at San Siro in their last Serie A match, with Luka Jovic, Christian Pulisic and Fikayo Tomori on the scoresheet. They are currently third in the Serie A standings.

Atalanta lost 3-0 in their previous Serie A match against Torino at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino and are currently eighth on the league table.

The last meeting between Atalanta and AC Milan occurred at San Siro, with AC Milan winning the game by a 2-0 scoreline.

Milan registered five victories in their nine previous matches, and Atalanta had two wins.

For Lookman and Chukwueze, the evening in Bergamo will be a special one. Both make dribbling and speed a strong point. Both come from ups and downs and seek the right leap to turn their season around.

Chukwueze, who arrived at Milan in the summer with the most expensive signing on the market, tried a few days ago. Against Borussia Dortmund, he scored his first goal in trademark style, dribbling in off the right and finishing, and that came after several unconvincing performances.

Lookman, who arrived in Serie A in the summer of 2022, enjoyed a record-breaking first year, and the new start was a little slower, with four goals and two assists in 19 appearances this season. The starting point for both is last season, an inevitable term of comparison between numbers and statistics.

Samuel comes from a golden year with Villarreal. In 50 appearances for the La Liga side, he amassed 13 goals and 11 assists, with a successful dribbling percentage of 50.2%. Conversely, Ademola was a revelation, with 15 goals and eight assists in 33 matches across all competitions.

Atalanta have failed to win any of their last four matches and have conceded two or more goals in 10 of their last 20 matches.

Milan has won 13 of their last 20 matches and has not lost any of their last four away matches.
