Arsenal moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League table after a narrow 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates on Saturday evening.

The win moved Arsenal four points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Having booked their place in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League with a 6-0 drubbing of Ligue 1 Lens in midweek, Mikel Arteta’s side picked up from where they left off on the domestic scene with another important win to boost their title chase.

Bukayo Saka scored the opener for the Gunners after six minutes of play before Martin Odegaard completed a fine team move from the edge of the area seven minutes later.

Wolves improved in the second half and Matheus Cunha tested David Raya’s reflexes with a powerful effort at the near post, before curling a superb drive into the top corner in 85 minutes.

Gary O’Neil’s side were unable to complete the fightback, as the Gunners ultimately ran out 2-1 winners thanks to the early goals.

Saka needed less than six minutes to put the home side ahead as Arsenal scored their earliest Premier League goal of the campaign so far.

Arsenal’s fourth in a row in all competitions, thanks to two early goals from Saka and Ødegaard sent Arteta’s side four points clear at the top of the table and strengthened their quest to seal a first league title for two decades.
