Former heavyweight star David Price has backed two-time world champion Anthony Joshua to reclaim a world title despite his recent setbacks.

Joshua, a 35-year-old, is at a crossroads in his career after suffering a devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September, ending his hopes of becoming a three-time heavyweight champion.

Before that defeat, Anthony Joshua was on a four-fight winning streak, securing victories over Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and Francis Ngannou in dominant fashion.

Following his defeat to Dubois, many boxing fans have suggested that Joshua should retire. However, Price believes the Nigerian-born British Olympic gold winner can still win a world title, though he doubts he can become an undisputed or unified champion.

In an interview with Mirror, Price said:
“I think winning another version of a world title is definitely doable for him. That’s the best outcome he could wish for. Being undisputed or unified is probably asking a bit too much, but you never know what the future holds. He has a great attitude towards the sport, is a consummate professional, and doesn’t let setbacks define him. We saw that with his reaction to the Andy Ruiz fight.”

Price, who struggled to recover from his first career defeat, praised Joshua’s resilience:

“My first loss ruined me, but Anthony Joshua has the strength to move forward. There are still good fights for him, like a rematch with Dillian Whyte. If he’s healthy and motivated, why not keep competing? He loves the sport, and that hunger is crucial for a fighter.”

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has confirmed that ‘AJ’ has multiple options for his next fight, especially if Tyson Fury remains retired. According to The Sun, potential opponents include Martin Bakole, Dillian Whyte, Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, Agit Kabayel, Daniel Dubois, and Joseph Parker.
