August sees not only the start of the new football season but also the introduction of new and exciting sporting content to keep in line with GOtv’s promise of offering its subscribers an unforgettable television experience.
In a broadcast first, GOtv aired the NBA Africa Game live on SuperSport Select 1 on the 1st of August; also treating some subscribers and fans to an exclusive live screening of the games. This was the first-ever NBA game to be played on the continent. The NBA Africa Game featured Team Africa, comprised of players born in Africa and second-generation African players playing against Team World, made up of players from the rest of the world. The game ended with a 101 – 97 score; with Team World atop.
GOtv subscribers are also in for a treat with the start of the new football season, as Europe’s top teams in the Spanish La Liga, British Premier League, Champions League and the Europa Leagues will go head to head to be named “Europe’s NO 1 team”. There is also more football lined up this season with the 2017 AFCON qualifiers airing on SuperSport Select 1 & 2.
From 8th August, GOtv subscribers can live and love the action of the Barclays Premier League with several games including; Everton vs Watford, Tottenham Hotspurs vs Stoke City and Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspurs.
