OOU holds special colloquium on education

As part of activities marking the 30th anniversary celebrations of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, the institution will on Thursday April 4, 2013 hold a special colloquium on education with the theme, “Nigeria’s Tertiary Education in Crisis: The Way Forward.”

Speaking on the theme of the colloquium, Segun Oshin, pro chancellor and chairman of the Governing Council of the institution stated that the choice of the theme was born out of the fact that the deterioration of our tertiary education has reached a stage that calls for urgent attention from all stakeholders.

Craig Mahoney, chief executive, Higher Education, UK and Dominic Fobih, member of Parliament and former cabinet minister of Education, Ghana, will be keynote speakers while Yakub Mamud, former executive secretary; Tertiary Education Tax Fund will be the lead speaker. There will also be an impressive panel of discussants to do justice to the topic.

The colloquium, which is aimed at charting the way forward will take place at DLK Event Center Moshood Abiola Way, Abeokuta.
