As an appreciation for her positive and friendly disposition towards students academic well being, Rosemund Dienye Green-Osahogulu, the vice chancellor of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), has been presented with a Golden Award of Excellence by the Niger Delta Students’ Union Government (NIDSUG).

Tombara Michael Yelah, the president of NIDSUG, said the vice chancellor was singled out for the award after the facility tour of the University by the body in early January this year, during which they saw impressive projects being embarked on by Green-Osahogulu.

Yelah said that apart from the ongoing projects, the VC’s administrative prowess and the cordial relationship she has built with her students and staff, which he described as second to none, necessitated the award.

The NIGDSUG president said he hoped the award would serve as an encouragement to the Vice Chancellor to do more for students and staff of the university.

Jane Onwuugbuta-Enyi, the dean of Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, IAUE received the award on behalf of the Vice Chancellor at the 2013 National Conference of Niger Delta Students Leaders, which took place at Ijaw House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Setting Education as a Priority for the Development of the Niger Delta Region.”
