Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area in Lagos State distributed educational materials consisting of 250 UTME/JAMB forms to indigent students, 420,000 notebooks, 7,000 school bags and life jackets to pupils in the riverine area.
Presenting the educational materials to the students, Ayodele Adwale, chairman of the council, said the school bags have been branded to educate the pupils on climate change and environmental sustainability. He said the life jacket became necessary because of the ugly incident of 2012 when pupils in the community lost their lives when their boat capsized en route school.
In a related development, the LG boss also presented 50 bicycles to revenue officers within the community to enhance mobility in discharge of their duties. He said the choice of bicycles was due to their cost effectiveness and zero-carbon emission
