businessday-icon

The inability of the Student’s Affairs Department of Abia State University Uturu, to conduct election to elect new executives for the institution’s hostels is creating anarchy in the hostels.

Hostel elections, which is usually conducted at the end of every session or at the beginning of a new session is yet to be conducted, as the timetable for election and election forms have not been released by the Students’ Affairs unit of the university, a month after resumption.

This however, has left the hostels in a deplorable condition, especially the female hostels.

The state of lawlessness has been on the increase as students are allowed to carry out their activities with no respect to hostel laws.

For instance, there is indiscriminate dumping of refuse by the students. This has made the institution very unkempt despite the relentless efforts of the cleaners to maintain a environmental sanitation.
