43 schools get new resource centres for learning

In a bid to expand new learning platforms to schools across the country, MultiChoice, Nigeria’s leading provider of premium pay entertainment, has added 43 new resource centres to existing 201 to bring the number of its educational resource centres to 244 in 24 states across the federation.

The announcement was made during the commemorative commissioning ceremony of eleven new MultiChoice Resource Centres (MRC) in Benue State held at Mount Saint Gabriel Secondary School, Makurdi, recently. The Benue launch completed the schedule for the Phase Eight of the MRC project.

Beneficiaries of the audio-visual learning aid in Benue State are: Government College, Makurdi; Government Model Secondary School, Makurdi; Government Girls’ Secondary School, Makurdi; Mt. St. Gabriel Secondary School, Makurdi; Special Science Senior Secondary School, Makurdi; Tilley Gyado College, Makurdi; Government Secondary School (North Bank), Makurdi; NKST Secondary School, Makurdi; Mt. Carmel College, Makurdi, Community Secondary School, Makurdi and Methodist High school, Igumale.

Akin Salu, general manager, Trade and Distribution, MultiChoice Nigeria, who represented John Ugbe, the managing director, MultiChoice Nigeria, at the ceremony, said: “The launch of MultiChoice Resource Centres in Benue is happening almost 10 years after the inaugural launch of the project in Abuja in 2004 to commemorate what was then MultiChoice’s 10th anniversary in Nigeria.
