Realtor launches initiative to inspire, reignite patriotic spirit in Nigerians

Ofure Ibhakhomu

A real estate investor, consultant, marketer and other services provider, Ofure Ibhakhomu, has launched a novel initiative aimed at inspiring and re-igniting patriotic spirit in Nigerians across generations.

The initiative, known as ‘Nigerian for Nigeria Initiative Awards’ which is powered by Lifecard International Investment, a wholly indigenous real estate firm in Lagos, held its maiden edition in Lagos recently during which a brand new car was given out to an outstanding Nigerian patriot.

“This initiative is aimed to inspire and reignite the spirit of patriotism among Nigerians. The new Nigeria we desire can only be achieved knowing that we all have a role to play, which is by agreeing to synergize and foster a formidable alliance that will ultimately lead to a new thinking,” explained Ibhakhomu, the event convener and Lifecard CEO.

Ibhakhomu believed that a new Nigeria was possible if as a people Nigerians could have the mindset of not just receiving from Nigeria, but also giving back to the country, citing John Kennedy of America who said, “ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”

The highpoint of the event was the presentation of the car award to Lade Owolabi, the awardee. The action was laden with emotion when the awardee spoke, saying, “some people mocked me for coming back to Nigeria; well those were people that didn’t see what I saw; they were people that didn’t see the mandate I was running with.”.

The convener noted that Owolabi’s story was one that showed patriotism and true Nigerian spirit , explaining that she left her comfort zone in the US where she schooled and worked and came back to Nigeria to empower and put smile on the faces of her fellow Nigerians.

Though it was its maiden edition, the event witnessed an impressive turnout with people whose desire is for Nigeria to be great again. In attendance, among other prominent dignitaries, was Joseph Yobo, Lifecard’s Brand Ambassador, who spoke on true Nigerian spirit and highlighted what Lifecard was doing to better the lives of Nigerians in the real estate industry.

“It’s great to know we still have people who will go to any length to bring about the positive change we desire in our Nation. In all, we are grateful to God for the success of the event and we are looking forwards to the 2nd edition in 2021,” Ibhakhomu said.

A major player in the real estate sector in Nigeria, Ibhakhomu said her journey into real estate was an inspiring success story buoyed by her good academic background.

She attended University Primary School, Ekpoma, University Secondary School, Ekpoma, Holy Trinity Grammar School, Sabogida – Ora and had her higher education at Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, all in Edo State.
