Abdulrazzak Namdas, former Federal House of Representatives Spokesperson and ex-Chairman of the House Committee on Army, has said he will resist any attempt to impose a candidate in the build-up to the 2027 Adamawa State Governorship election.

Namdas, who is seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket, spoke to journalists in Abuja after submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms.

He noted that his experience in the National Assembly for eight years had prepared him for Executive leadership, stressing that he is better positioned for the Governorship contest.

There are reports that political heavyweights in the State are locked in behind-the-scenes manoeuvres to install their preferred candidates for the Governorship position.

But Namdas said, “I have served in the National Assembly for eight years, and I believe I am well prepared for the next level. I contested in 2023 and I am back again in 2027 by the grace of God.”

He said consensus, if reached, would still allow participation, but stressed that internal democracy and open contest remain essential.

“We are ready to test our popularity. If you win, fine; if you lose, that is politics. There is no issue of imposition. Leaders, including the President, the national chairman, and the governor, have all promised fairness,” he added.
