President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The meeting which started at about noon, is being attended by Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser and the Service Chiefs.
Ribadu had during the week visited some displaced communities in Benue state to assess the security situation in the area.

The meeting is also coming on the heels of the President’s directives to the office of the NSA for the deployment of forest guards to man about 1129 forests across the country.
The meeting also comes ahead of his scheduled trip to Rome on Saturday, where he will attend the inauguration mass of Pope Leo XIV, following an invitation from the Vatican.
In attendance are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, among others.

Although the details of the meeting have not been disclosed, discussions are expected to focus on the recent resurgence of insecurity across the country.
