South-east Governor’s Forum and Igbo leaders on Sunday directed the president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nnia Nwodo, to wade into the face-off between the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, and renowned billionaire businessman, Arthur Eze.

Anyim and Arthur Eze have been in a cold war over a comment credited to the Anambra-born business mogul in an exclusive interview published in a national newspaper. The comment is said to be very critical of Anyim.

David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi State and chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, made this known while briefing journalists on the outcome of South-East and major Igbo leaders’ virtual meeting on Sunday.

Umahi said Nwodo was mandated to mediate and find lasting solution to the cold war for the interest of Ndi Igbo.

“The meeting requested the president of Ohanaeze to meet with Prince Arthur Eze and Senator Anyim to mediate between two of them,” Umahi said.

“The meeting has directed that both illustrious sons of Ala-igbo should cease fire and we appeal to the media not to give light to this misunderstanding between these two brothers,” he said.

Umahi also spoke on the proposed joint South-East security project.

“On a common law for a joint security of South-East, the governors agree that in our next meeting, a name will be given to the joint South-East security and then we will give go ahead to Attorney-General to dust the proposal and then send to the House of Assembly for them to deliberate and assent it. We have gone very far on this,” he said.
