Dahiru Liman, the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly; Magaji Henry Danjuma, the Deputy Speaker; and Munira Suleiman Tanimu, the Majority Leader, have emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for their respective constituencies. The trio secured their nominations through consensus affirmation exercises conducted across Kaduna State.
Liman was unanimously affirmed as the APC candidate for the Makera State Constituency during a primary exercise attended by party leaders, electoral officials, and supporters. Ezekiel Samuel Gode, the Returning Officer, declared the result and noted that Liman emerged unopposed after his adoption as the sole consensus candidate for the constituency.

In a similar exercise, Magaji Henry Danjuma, the Deputy Speaker, clinched the APC ticket for the Kagarko State Constituency. Party members across the constituent wards affirmed his candidature in an unopposed process. Abdulrahman Ibrahim Apo Jere, the APC Returning Officer, officially declared Danjuma the winner at the local government collation centre.
Concurrently, Munira Suleiman Tanimu, the Majority Leader of the House, secured the APC ticket for the Lere East Constituency following a peaceful affirmation exercise across the six wards of the constituency. Aminu Yaro, the Returning Officer for Lere East Constituency, officially returned her as the party’s candidate after the exercise concluded in Saminaka.
Aspirants step down to bolster party unity ahead of 2027
To strengthen party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections, several APC aspirants for the Kaduna State House of Assembly voluntarily withdrew from the race to endorse the consensus candidates. Speaking on behalf of the group in Kaduna, Abdulrazaq Shuibu Labbo, an aspirant for the Kaka/Gogi constituency in Birnin Gwari, stated that the decision followed strategic interventions by Governor Uba Sani to sustain party cohesion.
The aspirants who stepped down include Abdulrazaq Shuibu Labbo (Kaka/Gogi, Birnin Gwari), Mustapha Adam (Giwa West), Deborah Musa (Lere West), Isah Nasidi (Doka/Gabasawa), and Kabiru Bale Ahmed (Kawo). Political observers note that the development underscores a deliberate push by the Kaduna APC leadership to consolidate internal unity and prevent factional divisions ahead of the 2027 polls.
