The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the personal particulars and credentials of candidates and their running mates for the Osun State Governorship election with the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) missing from the list of political parties cleared for the poll.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Musa Olurode, the Commission’s Public Affairs Officer in Osun State, said 14 political parties had successfully uploaded the names and particulars of their candidates within the stipulated period after the conclusion of party primaries.
INEC identified the parties as A, AA, AAC, ADC, ADP, APGA, APC, APM, APP, BP, NNPP, PRP, YPP and ZLP, explaining that only parties that met constitutional and regulatory requirements within the prescribed timeframe would participate in the election.
The statement read in parts, “The political parties that validly uploaded the names and particulars of their candidates and their running mates as released by the Headquarters of the Commission, Abuja are: A, AA, AAC, ADC, ADP, APGA, APC, APM, APP, BP, NNPP, PRP, YPP, and ZLP.

”In accordance with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2022 and as provided in item 4 of the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the Osun State Governorship Election, the Commission has published the personal particulars of candidates and that of their running mates (Form EC9). Copies of each candidate’s Form EC9, together with all accompanying academic credentials and other documents submitted, will be displayed at the INEC State Office and in all the thirty (30) Local Government Area Offices and the Area Office of the Commission in Osun State on Monday, 16th February, 2026.
”Political parties, candidates, and members of the public are hereby advised to inspect the published documents as provided by law.
”The Commission further clarifies that only the fourteen (14) political parties listed above, having met the constitutional and regulatory requirements within the prescribed period, will participate in the forthcoming Osun State Governorship Election.”
Meanwhile, Mutiu Agboke, Resident Electoral Commissioner in Osun State has reassured the electorate and all stakeholders of its firm commitment to transparency, professionalism, and the conduct of credible elections in accordance with the law and best democratic practices.
The Commission also urged political parties and the public to continue to support the Commission in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
