…as APC’ Barau donates 61 cars, 1,136 motorcycles to APC leaders
The Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has taken disciplinary action against some of its members, including Kawu Sumaila, a senator, over alleged anti-party activities.
The State Chairman of the party Hashimu Dungurawa said this while, briefing journalists at the party Secretariat in Kano on Monday.
Dungurawa disclosed that the four legislators including Sumaila, the senator representating Kano south, Abdullahi Sani Rogo, a member representing Rogo Federal Constituency, Abdullahi Rurum, a member representing Rano/Kibiya, and Ali Maadakin Gini, Senator representing Dala Federal Constituency, were affected by the suspension order.
The chairman further said that the party told the decision to suspended the affected legislators having noted with disappointment the recent actions of some members elected under the party’s platform.at the national assembly.

According to him, despite being given complementary tickets to the legislators during the party elections, these members have allegedly gone against the party’s wishes, beliefs, and values.
BusineasDay observed that the suspension order is coming against the backdrop of a crisis which broke out between sentor Kawu, and the state chairman of the party, which resulted in the out bust between the two politicians.
Before the announcement of the suspension was also observed that the leadership of the party were absence at the wedding of Senator Kwau held weekend in Kano, a development which sources within the party said has to do face off.between him, and party chairman.
NNPP in Kano has been experiencing series of crisis of late, which may not be unconnected with the ongoing salient moves by politicians for the 2027 General election.
It would be recall that Barau Jibrin, deputy senate president has donated 61 cars and 1,136 motorcycles to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the grassroots level in Kano State.
The gesture sources in the party hinted was geared at empowering members of the party, and to enhance grassroots mobilization for party activities.
Speaking while, making the presentation, Jibrin stated that the motorcycles were designated for ward chairmen, while the cars would be allocated to party leaders, including local government and zonal chairmen
Also, speaking Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, APC ‘ national chairman, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for appointing key party members from the state to ministerial and other strategic positions.
“We appreciate President Tinubu for making it possible to appoint Mariya Bunkure as Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Abdullahi Atta as Minister of State for Works and Housing.
“We also thank President Tinubu for appointing Rabiu Bichi as Managing Director of Hadejia River Basin Development Authority,” he said.
He said that the people of Kano State would continue to support the party in appreciation of Mr. Tinubu’s commitment to the state.
The APC ‘ national chairman, also appreciated President Tinubu for making it possible to appoint Mariya Bunkure as Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Abdullahi Atta as Minister of State for Works and Housing.
“We also thank President Tinubu for appointing Mr. Rabiu Bichi as Managing Director of Hadejia River Basin Development Authority,” he said.
He emphasized that the people of Kano State would continue to support the party in appreciation of Tinubu’s commitment to the state.
In his address, earlier, Abdullahi Abbas, Kano state chairman of the party, commended Jibrin’s empowerment initiative and urged other politicians to provide palliatives to their constituents, especially during Ramadan.

He used the occasion to encourage party supporters to remain vigilant and focused on securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
