The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kosofe State Constituency 2 by-election, Obafemi Saheed, has been declared winner by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the Alapere Collation Centre.
Saheed won the election with a total vote of 12,434 while his close rival, Sikiru Alebiosu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scored 2068 votes in total.
The bye-election was conducted due to the death of Tunde Braimoh who represented the constituency in the Lagos state House of Assembly till mid of this year.
The by-election took place in a peaceful atmosphere, though with low turnout of voters.
The by- election which were supposed to be held on October 30th were shifted to today Dec.5th due to the #EndSARS protest.
