Gombe APC endorses Gwamna as consensus governorship candidate

…as Gov Yahaya emerges senatorial candidate for Gombe North

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has announced Jamilu Ishaiyaku Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

The decision was reached at an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting presided over by the party leader and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, following a marathon meeting which began last Friday and continued until Sunday evening.

A statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, indicated that the meeting also ratified consensus candidates for the State’s three Senatorial Districts, six House of Representatives seats and 24 State House of Assembly constituencies.

The session was attended by Governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly aspirants, members of the State Working Committee (EXCO), party elders, and other critical stakeholders, including the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the APC, North East zonal officials of the party, and other senior party figures.

The adoption of consensus candidates followed extensive consultations spearheaded by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, involving senior party figures, EXCO members, aspirants, and grassroots stakeholders, aimed at deepening internal cohesion, minimising friction, and projecting a united front ahead of the elections.

This development builds on an earlier series of engagements led by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who convened meetings with party elders, members of the State Working Committee, party officials at various levels, and other critical stakeholders as part of sustained efforts to consolidate unity and strengthen the party’s structure.

Those adopted as candidates across the Senatorial, including; Gombe Central, Mohammed Ahmadu Deba; Gombe South, Jerry Damara; and Gombe North, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
