Taraba state Governor Agbu Kefas has been declare the winner of the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Taraba state by the electoral committee.
Three governorship aspirants were on the APC governorship primary election ballot, Governor Kefas, the former minister of works Alhaji Sambo Jaji and Chief David Sabo Kente.
The APC Governorship primary election committee chairman Barr. Yakubu Haruna Argungu made the announcement at Fast-Track Hotel iate hours of Friday in Jalingo, Taraba state capital.
Argungu said Governor Kefas scored a total votes of 166, 357, Engr. Muazu Sambo Jaji got 4,110, while Chief David Sabo Kente 900. during the election which held on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
Barr. Argungu, however therefore declared that “Governor Kefas, with the highest votes is here by return as the winner of the primary election.
Accepting the results, Governor Kefas said the victory belonged to every member of the party across the state while he appreciate the leadership of the party at all levels for their support and confidence in his leadership, as well as the people of Taraba State for their continued trust and cooperation.
The Governor also commended his fellow aspirants, noting that democracy provides an opportunity for all voices to be heard, he said the period of contest is was over, and the time has come for unity and collective action toward the continued development of the state.
Kefas emphasized that his focus remains on building a stronger APC and a more prosperous Taraba State.
