The immediate past governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi is still alive.
Bolaji Tunji, media aide to the former governor, dismissed news about the death of his principal on Thursday.
“Kindly disregards all rumours, just rumours. In all, we remain prayerful.
“I spoke with those around him not long ago and they confirmed to me that he is still alive,” he said.
The ex-governor was reportedly receiving treatment after testing positive for COVID-19 at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos.
News about his death spread on Thursday across Oyo and Nigeria.
Ajimobi was chosen as the acting chairman of APC after a court affirmed the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole.
