ADP holds 2026 National Convention today to elect new NWC, flag bearers ahead of 2027

The Action Democratic Party is holding its National Convention from Friday to Saturday to elect National Officers for the next 4 years.

Sani Dawop, National Publicity Secretary of ADP, in a statement, said the party will also affirm a consensus candidate as the party’s Presidential flag-bearer for the 2027 general elections and adopt motions for the amendment of the constitution.

The statement said the National Chairman, Yabagi Yusuf Sani, stressed that during the Convention, far-reaching decisions will be taken that will strengthen the party and be catalytic to evolving the Nigeria of our dreams.

Earlier at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in March 2026, the party resolved to elect its candidate for the 2027 general elections via consensus.

Also, elections for members of the House of Assembly, the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the governorship took place peacefully across the country on Thursday, 28 May 2026.

The activities for the day will be concluded with a press conference around the communique to be issued on all major decisions taken.

“The ADP is poised to provide a credible alternative to Nigerians rather than recycling people who have been the bane of politics and reasons for the country’s underdevelopment.
