The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the successful upload of the names and particulars of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal, marking a major milestone in its preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The party’s national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed the development in a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday night.

“We are pleased to announce that we have successfully uploaded the names and particulars of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar (GCON), and our vice presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi (CON), to the nomination portal of the @INECNigeria,” Abdullahi wrote.

“This marks another important step in our preparations for the 2027 general election and our commitment to offer Nigerians a credible alternative built on competence, unity, and national renewal,” he added.

The development came as political parties intensify the process of submitting candidates’ details through INEC’s dedicated nomination portal ahead of the statutory deadline.

The portal is used by registered political parties to upload the particulars and sworn affidavits of candidates seeking elective offices.

The ADC had earlier unveiled former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential flag bearer, with former Rivers State governor and ex-minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi emerging as his running mate, as part of the party’s strategy to challenge the ruling APC and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

The successful submission places the ADC among the frontline parties that have completed a crucial stage of the nomination process, reinforcing its claim of being prepared to mount a serious contest in the next general election.
