Tinubu nominates Ibrahim, Olawande as ministers for youth

President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of Jamila Ibrahim and Ayodele Olawande as Minister of Youth and Minister of State, respectively, pending their confirmation by the Senate.

Ajuri Ngelale, Presidential Spokesman, in a statement on Sunday, said, Jamila Ibrahim, a medical doctor had recently served as the President of the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF).

She has also served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ayodele Olawande, on the other hand, is a community development expert and youth leader in the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

He most recently served in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023.

President Tinubu charges the above-mentioned nominees to ensure that they consistently reflect the dynamism, innovative zeal, and unyielding productivity that are synonymous with the young people of Nigeria as they discharge their duties.

Both names will have been submitted to the Senate for screening and confirmation and will be sworn in as soon as the process is completed

Recall that the President had earlier named Abubakar Momoh as Minister of Youth Development before he was reassigned to the Niger Delta Ministry in a minor cabinet reshuffle before they were sworn in.
