GistLover is a significant player in sharing scandalous tales about the powerful, socially prominent, and famous. Its latest story alleges that Governor Duoye Diri is responsible for the pregnancy of former BB Naija participant Nengi Rebecca Hampson, 25.

Both Governor Diri and Nengi Hampson have responded.

-Nengi confirms that she is pregnant for an unnamed person she respects.

-Governor Diri denies any relationship with Nengi or knowledge of her pregnancy.

NENGI

Ms Nengi stated on X: “As much as I believe social media lies aren’t worth my time, I’ve come to accept that we live in a world where people are quick to spread lies without limit. So let me be clear: I’m not pregnant by any Governor.”

“I’ve chosen to speak coz this isn’t just an attack on me, it involves people I hold in the highest regard, and I won’t allow a beautiful, personal part of my life to be turned into something ugly.

“While I continue to mind my business and enjoy my pregnancy in peace, I wish you all love and a happy Valentine’s weekend.”

The Director-General of New Media to the governor, Dr Samuel Kolawole Oredipe, stated on Facebook: “Political enemies of His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, are at work once more. What a wicked group of individuals spreading falsehood on a day when the Prosperity Administration commenced activities to mark its 5th anniversary.”

“Nengi Rebecca Hampson has no personal relationship with the governor. Nengi has come out on social media to debunk the lies. This is a distraction, and some of us are justified in the many reasons offered to regulate the use of various social media.”
In November 2020, Nengi was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on Girl Child Development to Governor Diri.

Okeite and Anambra’s security imbroglio

Following Governor Charles Soludo’s efforts to tackle insecurity, a complex interplay of tradition, religion, and security unfolds in Anambra State. Okeite (big pot) and its alleged link to criminal activities is central to the narrative.

What is Okeite?

Okeite is a traditional charm or ritual substance reportedly made from human parts, animals, and herbs in a mud pot. Adherents believe it addresses challenges and unlocks vast fortunes. The practice is deeply rooted in the traditional religious customs of Anambra State. However, it has become increasingly associated with criminal activities, such as kidnapping and fraud, particularly among young men known as “Yahoo boys.”

In December 2024, Governor Charles Soludo declared a war on native doctors and traditional practices linked to Okeite, citing a rise in criminal activities within the state. The Anambra State Homeland Security Law, enacted in January 2025, imposes strict penalties, including six years’ imprisonment, a fine of N20 million, or both, for anyone found guilty of preparing or administering Okeite or similar charms.

Arrest of Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki

A prominent native doctor, Chukwudozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, was arrested in February 2025 for allegedly preparing Okeite. His arrest followed a viral video in which he discussed the substance. During interrogation, Akwa Okuko claimed he had stopped practicing Okeite since the state government’s crackdown began. However, authorities have vowed to investigate further to verify his claims.

Controversy Over Religious Freedom

The crackdown on Okeite has sparked debates over religious freedom and discrimination. Critics argue that the Anambra State Homeland Security Law unfairly targets practitioners of traditional African religions, violating constitutional rights to freedom of religion and expression. Section 18 of the law, which criminalises using supernatural powers to accumulate wealth, has been particularly contentious. Critics claim the wording is vague and could be used to suppress traditional religious practices.

Agunechemba Security Outfit

The Agunechemba security outfit, established under the Homeland Security Law, has actively enforced the new regulations. The group has raided suspected criminal hideouts, demolished buildings used for illegal activities, and arrested individuals linked to Okeite and other criminal practices. The outfit has also been criticised for its heavy-handed approach, with some accusing it of targeting traditional religious practitioners disproportionately 91112.

Pushback from traditionalists, support from the community

Exponents of traditional religion have offered considerable push back. However, they lack renowned voices and faces in their corner.

The Anambra State Chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo has expressed support for the government’s security initiatives, emphasising the need to restore sanity and stability in the state. However, traditional religious practitioners have protested, arguing that the law discriminates against their faith and violates Nigeria’s secular nature. They have called for equal treatment of all religions and focused on addressing the root causes of insecurity rather than targeting specific religious practices.

Ramifications of Okeite

Okeite

This is what is killing our young men today in Igboland.

Alright! If you see any yahoo boy spending money extravagantly, this is what he’s involved in. Ordinary yahoo activities no longer suffice. They now engage in this to secure a significant payout. The minimum an experienced native doctor might charge a person to prepare this charm is N1.5 million. Some native doctors even charge as much as N3 million.

Some do not charge; rather, they occasionally collect a percentage of whatever you earn. Traders also participate in this practice. This activity is known as a money ritual (ogwu ego). The native doctor prepares it using bat, other dangerous bird species, bitter herbs, roots, and the barks of spiritual trees, such as the ogilisi. The primary ingredients include dogs’ spare parts and human spare parts. They work directly with mortuary attendants, primarily seeking parts from those who died in road accidents and others who passed away at a young age. They also obtain parts from women who have not borne children. Any native doctor who knows how to prepare this must be an occult native doctor; otherwise, the vibrations will eventually impact the native doctors. The repercussions are typically severe for the native doctors.

In this category of charm lies the powerful Ibobo isi atu. Ibobo is hung on the wall. Celebrities are known to do it. Contractors, drug dealers, and heads of security who wish to instil fear do it. They do it to command respect, invoke fear, and attract the admiration of important individuals. It’s a very dangerous charm. It’s arguably more destructive and costly than Okeite. Anyone who possesses Ibobo is feared without justification. People pay attention when they speak. As a contractor, your bids are given priority. It carries a compelling allure. The prestige of a person who possesses it captivates others.

Another one is udu ako mmili (a calabash that never lacks water). It’s more like okeite. It takes the same process to prepare.

Another one under this category is Okeawele. Traders, transporters and farmers do this mostly.

Another is aro agba aka (year will never go by without making a person wealthy). It’s a discovery under this category and seems to be the deadliest.

These are some things you view as grace in the lives of those you consider wealthy. Interestingly, none of the exceptionally rich engage in such behaviour. What they offer to those who partake in these activities are expensive cars, houses, and money to spend on women and to flaunt at events. That’s all there is to it. No one who participates in these foolish pursuits is ever regarded as one of the wealthy men and women.

The side effects are more severe than the benefits they provide. You continue to lose family members occasionally. They inhibit some people’s ability to conceive. Some may manage to give birth, but the baby may die during delivery. At times, the mother may succumb as well. They devastate children, with some not surviving beyond five years. Yet, money will flow in. Upon dying, the properties disintegrate as they arrived. Besides the deadly consequences, you will lack peace of mind while you’re alive. You won’t be able to help anyone with your wealth. The more you contribute to the pot, the more money circulates. It thrives even more when the handkerchief used to clean a woman’s private parts after intercourse is added to the pot. That’s when you might witness some young girls go mad or struggle to conceive. The pot simmers like never before. Some bring charred human remains, particularly those babies and young girls whose blood is still warm.

The truth is that the native doctor does not know which individuals the charms will select as sacrifices; the charms choose randomly. Consequently, a family member or close friend may die without your knowledge that it was at your behest. The charms select individuals without informing clients of who will be taken or when. This explains why a wealthy individual in a family, suspected of being responsible for another’s death, can openly assert their innocence and face no consequences. Once the pot ceases to froth, it signifies that the time for the designated individual to depart has arrived. That is often when one hears of young men dying in road accidents, going mad, or perishing in mysterious circumstances. Therefore, when seeking to benefit from someone’s fortune merely because they have purchased a new vehicle or built a new house, be aware that you may be drawing from an unfamiliar force. No young man with substantial wealth nowadays acquires it through legitimate means.
Ordinary Yahoo stopped paying some five years ago.

It’s good that you know all these so that no one pushes you into regrettable living.

So that you don’t envy people you are better than.

So that you don’t think you are not working hard. Learn, Research, Ask questions. Don’t be jealous, don’t envy, or be disturbed by the doings of some people who don’t have known sources of income.

The April Fool BMW

Dark knowledge · deopSsnotrla1050006219m m9u1i5c7r l1yrhbat9 uu7tt11l2e78atF: ·

In 2015, BMW New Zealand orchestrated a unique “reverse April Fools’ Day joke” that surprised many. On April 1st, they placed an advertisement in the New Zealand Herald, offering a brand new BMW to the first person who brought their old car to the dealership and asked for “Tom.”

While most readers dismissed it as a typical April Fools’ prank, one woman named Tianna Marsh decided to take a chance. She arrived at the Team McMillan BMW dealership in Newmarket at 5:30 AM, driving her 15-year-old Nissan Avenir. To her astonishment, the offer was genuine, and BMW honored their promise. Tianna received a new BMW 1 Series worth nearly NZ$50,000, complete with a custom license plate reading “NOF00L”.

The luxury car manufacturer had prepared for potential crowds with extra security, yet Tianna was merely one of a handful who attempted to claim the offer. In a final act of goodwill, BMW announced it would sell Tianna’s old Nissan and donate the proceeds to GoBabyGo, a charity that provides modified ride-on cars for young disabled children. This clever marketing stunt rewarded one fortunate individual’s leap of faith and generated considerable positive publicity for BMW.
