Prime Women Builders Foundation (PWOBFON) empowers over 2,000 Women in Epe

In her vision to adding value to womanhood, the Prime Women Builders Foundation of Nigeria (PWOBFON) builder hosted the 8th edition of her empowerment day programme themed “Recovery; a Deliberate Art”. The programme, which has over 2,000 participants in attendance, took place on Saturday, 19th August 2017 at Epe Local Government Secretariat, Lagos State. The empowerment programme was divided into two sessions- vocational training from 7am – 12noon and corporate presentation from 1pm – 3pm.

Participants were trained on the following vocations based on their area of interest; Hair making, Bag & shoe making, Event management, Event decoration, Entrepreneurship, Photography, Fashion design & Tailoring, Ankara design, Cakes baking, Wire works, Popcorn & Zobo drink, Make up and so on. The following corporate organizations – Nobel Carpets & Rugs, Evagreen Virgin Coconut Oil, May & Baker Lily Water, Brand7Ps Communications Ltd, Indomine Noodles, Pertinence Ltd, Nipen, Good Mama and many others were on ground too to create experiential marketing and trained participants on entrepreneurship.

Mrs. Kemi Olofinkua, the National President, PWOBFON, in her welcome address said “Recovery; a Deliberate Art means a lot, but one thing that is the same in all its meaning is that for anybody to recover, the person must establish that there is a problem and the person is ready to consciously do something to come out of such state. Recovery is not by force or by chance otherwise you will loss it in no time”. Therefore, be determined to recover from all your challenges, give it all it takes and success is sure for you. She charged all participants to avoid every form of distractions and you will not regret you came to Empowerment Day 2017.

The mother of the Day, Her Excellency, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, the first Lady, Lagos State, who was represented by Mrs. Peju Ogidan, the wife of the Executive Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government thanked Mrs. Kemi Olofinkua, the National President, PWOBFON for the vision of adding value to womanhood. She encouraged the management of Prime Women Builders Foundation of Nigerian to continue the rotation of the empowerment programme to ensure all local government in Lagos state benefit from the programme. She also charged all participants to make good use of the opportunity and turn their passion to business.

Mr. Mogbolu, Moses Chukwudi, a Brand and Marketing Consultant, in his presentation, explained to all the participants the key branding and marketing essentials to adopt in order to ensure the success of their business. He emphasized the need to integrate digital marketing into their traditional marketing strategies and also develop good business plan, a-go-to market strategy, proper account records, brand management and channels development. “You must carve a niche for yourself in the market. Be creative, innovative and always put your customers first to ensure success” -Mr. Mogbolu

In her words of appreciation, Mrs. Adebisi Bakare, HOD Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Epe Local Government, Lagos State thanked PWOBFON for the noble initiative and she also encouraged other NGOs to emulate this noble initiative because a nation is empowered when a woman is empowered. Any investment in building human capital is not a waste.

PWOBFON announced that the 9th edition of her empowerment day programme will take place on Saturday 18th August, 2018 and the venue will be communicated later. Registration is totally free.
