In Imo State, there is general restriction of vehicular movement this morning.

Our reporter who traveled to the Sam Mbakwe Cargo International Airport observed that the usual busy airport road is completely a shadow of itself.

Also, on Aba-Owerri road, from Okpala junction in Ngor-Okpal local government area to W
ethral road junction in Owerri, there were no vehicles seen except those on election duty.

But one thing different is that there is an unusual security checks on the roads and strategic points.
Even with election duty tags pasted on vehicles and with journalists wearing election duty tags it did not make monitoring easy, this morning.

Places monitored include, Owerri Municipal Council headquarters, Mbaitoli Council headquarters at Nwaorieubi, Orji Town Primary School, Polling Units 005,006,007.

In all these areas, electoral materials have arrived, security men were on ground, party agents and noting has started.

But at Community School Akabor, Booth 007 , voting started around 9:25 am and environment has been calm.
