The need for public sector organisations to key into IT digital transformation to achieve better efficiency and effectiveness has been reiterated at a Customer Technology Update Session held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Annie Odo-Effiong, integrated marketing manager, Dell EMC East, West & Central Africa, in an address at the session stressed the critical role of the public sector in the development of any nation as well as the need for technological adoption if the sector was to experience growth and development.
“We live in a device-driven world, where people expect IT services to be always on and always connected. To keep up with increasing competition and growing customer requirements, companies must find a way to do more with fewer resources,” she said.
Shams Hassan, infrastructure solutions marketing manager, META, said digitisation brings tremendous opportunities and benefits to businesses across all areas – infrastructure, operations, applications and services. He noted that Dell is unmatched in scale, influence and experience and reiterated the company’s commitment to bringing technology innovation to people and their businesses.
“The breadth and depth of the technologies Dell provides are truly best-in-class. Every one of our brands is recognised as a leader, innovator or both. Our mission is to help create technologies that drive human progress and bring innovation to our customers so they can address the modern-day challenges they are facing,” he said.
Hassan, in a presentation on converged infrastructure, said Dell has the industry’s broadest hyper-converged infrastructure portfolio designed to accelerate and simplify IT deployment and management to meet specific customer goals. He said hyper-converged infrastructures, which combine full-featured storage, computing and networking functions into a single solution for virtualised environments, have continued to gain momentum as organisations reap the benefits of faster time-to-value and more efficient operations from flexible, scalable, streamlined IT.
Noting that Dell has helped other countries within Europe, Africa and the Middle East use technology to transform their communities, he invited organisations, especially those in the public sector, to take advantage of Dell EMC’s innovative and forward-thinking solutions to simplify processes and boost efficiency and effectiveness of their IT.
“We are committed to bringing technology innovation to people everywhere so they can transform and thrive in the digital economy,” he said.
