Pelumi Olajengbesi, an Abuja-based lawyer has stepped aside from his role at Law Corridor as he prepares to pursue his political ambition ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
The decision was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday by the management and partners of Law Corridor, which said Olajengbesi would temporarily disengage from the firm to focus on his growing political activities and public service aspirations.
According to the firm, the move aligns with its internal governance structure, which requires strict political neutrality from its partners and leadership.
“This decision is in accordance with the Articles of Governance of Law Corridor, which uphold the firm’s long-standing policy of political neutrality,” said Ganiyu Ajibola Bello, the Deputy Managing Partner of the firm.
Bello noted that the decision was taken after due consideration of the firm’s internal policies and Olajengbesi’s increasing involvement in political mobilization ahead of the next electoral cycle. He added that the management and partners of the firm remain supportive of Olajengbesi’s future aspirations.

“The Partners of the firm express their appreciation to Mr. Olajengbesi for his contributions to the growth and development of Law Corridor and wish him the very best in his public service aspirations,” Bello said.
Before stepping aside, Olajengbesi played a significant role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction and professional growth. He previously served as Managing Partner of the firm and later returned to the leadership structure as Senior Partner and Group Lead of the Family, Succession and Wealth Management (FSW) Practice after completing his tenure as Managing Partner.
During his time at the firm, he was involved in expanding the firm’s legal services and strengthening its reputation in areas such as family law, wealth management, and succession planning. Colleagues within the firm credit him with contributing to the institutional development of Law Corridor and helping to position it as a growing legal practice within Nigeria’s capital.
Beyond the courtroom and corporate legal advisory work, Olajengbesi has also built a profile in civil society advocacy and public interest campaigns. Over the past decade, he has been involved in several social justice initiatives, legal advocacy campaigns, and grassroots mobilization efforts focused on governance and civic engagement.
His political engagement has become more visible in recent years, particularly through his role as convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network, a political support movement advocating the re-election of Ademola Adeleke, the current governor of Osun State.
The group has been active in mobilizing grassroots political support and strengthening political engagement in communities across the state.
Olajengbesi is also widely believed to be positioning himself to contest for the Obokun–Oriade Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections. The constituency is located in Osun State and has historically been a competitive political district.
While he has not yet formally declared his candidacy, political observers say his growing grassroots presence and advocacy activities suggest an early build-up toward the race.
His decision to step aside from Law Corridor signals what may be the beginning of a full transition from legal practice into partisan politics, a path that several Nigerian lawyers have taken over the years as they move from the courtroom to the political arena.
For now, the law firm says it will continue its operations under its existing leadership structure while maintaining its long-standing policy of non-partisanship. Meanwhile, Olajengbesi is expected to focus on political mobilization and consultations as the countdown to the 2027 elections gradually gathers momentum across Nigeria.
