Yusuf reaffirms commitment to peaceful Sallah celebrations in Kano

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state,  has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring peaceful sallah celebrations across Kano State.

Abba Kabir Yusuf, ably represented by his Deputy, Murtala Sule Garo, gave the assurance during a security meeting high-level security meeting ahead of Sallah festivities and accompanying traditional activities.

Speaking during the meeting Murtala Sule Garo conveyed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s appreciation to security agencies, traditional rulers and relevant stakeholders for their continued support and dedication toward peace and stability in Kano State.

Garo stated Governor Abba Kabir remains fully committ to ensuring that residents and visitors enjoy sallah festivities in a safe and peaceful atmosphere.

According to him, the administration has directed all relevant security agencies to intensify collaboration in the areas of intelligence sharing, crowd management, traffic control, surveillance and emergency response throughout the festive period.

Garo said, “As we all know, the Sallah period is of great religious and cultural significance to the people of Kano State. It is a period that attracts gatherings, increase movement of people and several traditional activities, including the renowned Hawan Sallah to be led by His Highness the Emir of Kano, alongside othe celebrations and public engagements across the state.”

He further stated that special attention must to be given to  prayer grounds, Hawan Sallah routes, markets, recreational centres, motor parks and other public places where large gatherings are expected.

The Governor also appeal to community leaders, religious scholars, traditional institutions, youth groups, and members of the public to cooperate fully with security agencies and conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly during the celebrations.

Kano State has always been known for its peaceful coexistence, hospitality, and respect for tradition. It is our collective responsibility to preserve these values and ensure that this year’s Sallah celebrations remain peaceful, dignified, and memorable for all.
