Dikko Umaru Radda, Katsina State governor, has highlighted what he described as major achievements recorded by his administration in the last three years, citing progress in security, education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, renewable energy and revenue generation.
The governor’s scorecard was contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, to mark the administration’s third anniversary in office.
According to the statement, the Radda administration has focused on addressing insecurity, which had long hindered development across many communities in the state.
Through a combination of security operations, community engagement and rehabilitation initiatives, the government said incidents of banditry and kidnapping have reduced significantly, allowing farmers to return to their farmlands and economic activities to resume in affected areas.
In the education sector, the administration said it invested over N120 billion, leading to the construction of 170 junior secondary schools, rehabilitation of 300 schools and renovation of 150 primary schools.

The statement said the government also established ICT and Computer-Based Test centres and built model smart secondary schools equipped with robotics, artificial intelligence facilities and internet connectivity.
The government further said it upgraded healthcare facilities across the state, including the expansion of dialysis services at the Katsina State Dialysis Centre and the modernisation of major hospitals.
It noted that an advanced imaging centre, described as one of the most sophisticated in Northern Nigeria, is nearing completion.
On infrastructure, the administration pointed to the completion of key road projects, deployment of solar-powered streetlights and implementation of urban renewal programmes across the state’s three senatorial districts.
The statement also highlighted investments in agriculture, including the establishment of mechanisation centres, deployment of tractors and harvesters, and support for dry and wet season farming.
In the energy sector, the government said it launched a renewable energy programme valued at N19.89 billion, providing solar power to critical public institutions.
The administration further claimed that internally generated revenue rose from about N400 million to N3 billion monthly following reforms driven by digital governance initiatives.
Mohammed added that a recent Tracka/BudgIT assessment ranked Katsina among the top-performing states in project implementation, with an 85.84% completion rate and no abandoned projects recorded within the review period.
He said the achievements reflect Governor Radda’s commitment to improving the lives of Katsina residents and laying a foundation for sustainable development across the state.
