We don’t want our future truncated, children tells new administration in Nigeria

Founders of Smiles for Orphans and Vulnerable Children Initiative with some of the children during the event recently.

Children from different orphanage homes and schools around Ijeododo and Ojo areas of Ojo Local Government area of Lagos State, have offered a special prayers for the new administration as they marked this year’s Children’s Day organised by Smiles for Orphans and Vulnerable Children Initiative, an NGO based in Lagos.

In their prayers, the children asked God to help the new administration so that no Nigerian child will have to suffer or have their hope and future truncated.

Speaking at the occasion tagged ‘SOVCI May 27th Children’s Day Celebration,’ the Founder and Team Lead of the group, Momah Euriel, said that the event was specially organised to give the children the opportunity to have a fun-filled children’s Day celebration and also be able to showcase their talents as they interact with other children.

He said that every child has enough potential within him to make him succeed and reached his fullest potential in life. All they is to be given the right environment to grow and develop these potential.

According to him, this is one reason the group seeks to support different orphanage homes who are doing so much to provide and cater for these orphaned and vulnerable children who, otherwise, would have their hopes dashed.

He called for more committed and proactive efforts from the government and other corporate organizations to do more in securing a filling and happy future for the children.

The Children’s Day Celebration which was held at the Julius Berger Hall of the Faculty of Management Science of the Lagos State University, Ojo featured several fun filled activities including Mental Health Talk, quiz competitions, talents shows and presentations and displays from some the homes present at the event.

There was also live music presentation by E-mention Music Group. The event ended with the cutting of the SOVCI Children’s Day cake.

According to the organisers, the event was supported by different corporate organisations including Nestle Nigeria Plc, Arla Foods, Cubas International, Topfingers Group, TSKM Consults, Micro International, Bible Society Of Nigeria and E-Mention Group with many other well meaning individuals.
