The Investment Society, University of Lagos (TISUNILAG), is set to host the 2026 edition of its flagship conference. The Colloquium, happening on June 18, will bring together students, industry leaders and policymakers to discuss the future of Nigeria’s financial markets, renewable energy sector and infrastructure development.
The event, themed “Unlocking a New Era: The Future of Nigerian Financial Markets, Renewable Energy, and Infrastructure Development,” will hold at the J.F. Ade Ajayi Hall, University of Lagos, with organisers expecting more than 2,500 participants.
According to the organisers, the conference is designed to examine opportunities and challenges across key sectors critical to Nigeria’s economic development, while exposing students and young professionals to industry insights and emerging trends.
Nigeria’s infrastructure deficit remains a major challenge to economic growth. The World Bank has estimated that the country requires about $100 billion annually over the next three decades to meet its infrastructure needs, creating opportunities for private-sector investment and innovation across transport, energy and digital infrastructure.
The discussions will focus on the role of financial markets in driving economic growth, the increasing importance of renewable energy in addressing Nigeria’s power challenges, and strategies for bridging the country’s infrastructure gap.

Organisers told BusinessDay that this year’s event is supported by organisations including Aradel and FCSL Capital, and would feature panel discussions and keynote sessions led by professionals from the finance, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
Confirmed speakers and panelists for the event include Olusola Carrena, Managing Director, Nigeria, Helios Investment Partners, James Ilori, CEO, FCMB Asset Management, Odunayo Ojo, CEO, UPDC; Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani, CEO, Energy Inc Advisors; Dapo Olagunju, Managing Director, J.P. Morgan West Africa, and Bimbo Oyeyiga, Head, Corporate Finance, Rand Merchant Bank (West Africa), among other industry leaders expected to share insights on investment opportunities, market developments and the future of infrastructure financing in Nigeria.
Since it was founded in 2018, The Colloquium has grown into one of the leading student-led business and investment conferences in Nigeria. Previous editions have featured notable speakers such as Adenike Ogunlesi, founder of Ruff ‘n’ Tumble, and Banji Fehintola, executive board member and head of financial services at Africa Finance Corporation (AFC).
Organisers said the 2026 edition aims to foster dialogue between students and industry stakeholders while equipping participants with practical insights into some of the sectors expected to shape Nigeria’s economic future.
