In a compassionate response to the recent environmental crisis in Ara Ajatakiri Village, Ikwuano LGA, Abia State, the United Nations International Peace and Governing Council has sent a delegation to ascertain the level of problem.
The delegates under the directive of Special Envoy Kelechi Unono-Okagbare, pledged to provide immediate relief to the village. This commitment includes the drilling of a borehole to ensure the availability of clean and safe drinking water for the residents.

According to them, the provision of safe drinking water in the community aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal of ensuring availability and sustainable management of water for all.
Citing the commitment to environmental sustainability and community health, Unono-Okagbare, expressed the United Nations’ dedication to supporting the people of Ara Ajatakiri in their time of need. “This intervention not only addresses the immediate need for clean water but also signifies a step towards long-term sustainability and improved quality of life for the villagers,’ she said.
