Chimezie Ukaegbu, Abia State Commissioner for Transport, has restated the commitment of Governor Alex Otti to rebuilding failed infrastructure in the State.
Ukaegbu, stated this, while hosting a delegation from the Alex Otti Support Group, who paid him a visit in his Office at the State Secretariat in Umuhia, the State Capital last week.
He expressed the commitment of the Governor Otti-led Administration to uplifting Abia State to the greatest level of development.
He said that Governor Otti’s achievements so far could be seen in the restoration and upgrade of long-abandoned public infrastructure across the State, such as Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard in Umuahia; Port Harcourt Road in Aba; Obohia and Ohanku Roads, Ohafia-Arochukwu Road, Omenuko Bridge and several others that only served as tools of electioneering deceit before now.
He argued that “what makes the current Administration in Abia different is that they are driven by a genuine sense of service and an obligation to work for the people”, noting that “their pursuit is beyond political glory, because they appreciate that humanity comes before politics.”
Chile Kabaka Madukaku, Director-General, Alex Otti Support Group (Abia for Good Governance) commended Governor Alex Otti on his developmental and transformational efforts in Abia State, laying emphasis on the rehabilitation of failed roads in the State, especially Aba, the State’s commercial hub.
Some of the projects that caught the attention of the Group according to Madukaku, includes the Port-Harcourt Road, Ohanku Road, Obiohia Road, Ekeakpara-Osisioma Road, Ehi Road, Clifford Road, Tenant Road, School Road and Market Road, all in Aba.

Others are Okporoenyi-Oboro Road, Omenuko Bridge, Tower-Onuimo dualization, Owerrinta-Umuekaa dualization, Ozuabam-NdiOji-Ndi Okereke Road, Bank Road Expansion, Umuahia-Akara Road, Akara-Abiriba Road, Abiriba-Ohafia Road, Ohafia-Arochukwu Road.
Also the ongoing rehabilitation of 200 Primary Healthcare Centres, Upgrading of 221 Public Schools, Establishment of 20 Smart Schools, Upgrading of 22 General Hospitals and the Development of Enyimba Hotels, Aba.
He congratulated the Governor on his efforts, drive, and vision for a new and greater Abia, which Abians have long been yearning for.
“His impressive achievements, hard work, dedication, and commitment to public service has truly paid off”, he added.
Madukaku, also expressed gratitude to all those appointed by the governor, for their efforts in helping in shaping the “New Abia State”.
Madukaku, pointed out that the Group had keenly been watching activities, performance and contributions of the appointees and had decided to host them to a banquet for their dedication to the New Abia of Alex Otti-led Government.
He encouraged and prayed the governor to keep up the tempo of development, which Abia State had never witnessed since creation in 1991.
