Terrorists on Monday attacked a military base in Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, injuring two soldiers.

The attack occurred as the terrorists were moving towards Mashegu and Wushishi Local Government Areas.

According to reports, the clash resulted in the death of one bandit.

Ayuba Usman Katako, the chairman of Rafi Local Government, confirmed the incident and stated that the soldiers are receiving treatment at IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna. He urged community support and information sharing to assist security agencies.

Niger State has witnessed several attacks from non-state actors. Recently, an ambush in Shiroro Local Government Area resulted in the deaths of two officers and four soldiers. The ambush took place during a patrol to Karaga Village.
