Two IBEDC staff under Ogun region kidnapped, as company says working with relevant security agencies

Gunmen have abducted two staff members of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) in the Ogun region.

IBEDC, in a statement, said the staff members were kidnapped on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

“This is to confirm that two of our staff members under the Ogun region were abducted on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. We are deeply concerned about this situation, and our thoughts are with our colleagues and their families at this difficult time.

While saying the distribution company is working closely with relevant security agencies to ensure the safe return of the affected staff, it stated, “We are also in active engagement with their families, providing the necessary support.”

“Given the sensitive nature of this incident and ongoing efforts to resolve it, we are unable to provide further details at this time. We kindly request understanding and restraint as we prioritise the safety and well-being of those involved,,” the statement signed by management noted.

“We will provide updates as appropriate,” it added.
