Truecaller is widening access to its Business Chat platform in a move aimed at reshaping how companies engage customers globally, as enterprises increasingly shift away from traditional SMS toward more trusted and interactive communication channels.

The Stockholm-headquartered Truecaller said on Tuesday that it is opening the platform to global channel partners and enterprise solution providers, allowing them to onboard clients onto a system designed to deliver verified, media-rich and conversational messaging.

The expansion signals a broader push by the communications firm to position itself at the centre of enterprise-customer interaction, particularly in markets where trust in digital communication remains a challenge.

Priyam Bose, global head of go-to-market at the company, said the shift reflects changing expectations among businesses and consumers alike.

“The definition of success for modern enterprises has fundamentally evolved. It’s no longer just about delivery—it’s about earning attention, establishing credibility, and driving meaningful conversion,” Bose said.

According to him, opening the platform to partners creates a gateway for brands to reach over 500 million active users who already rely on Truecaller for everyday communication, while also offering existing clients an additional channel to deepen customer engagement.

The Business Chat platform enables companies to communicate with users in a verified environment, a feature increasingly seen as critical in markets plagued by spam and fraud messages. It also offers real-time data and engagement metrics, allowing businesses to refine their communication strategies across the customer journey.

Industry players say the move could accelerate the decline of conventional SMS, which has struggled with low trust levels and limited interactivity, especially for enterprise use cases such as customer support, marketing and transactional messaging.

Several partners are already deploying the solution across key markets. These include Gupshup and OneXtel in India, as well as Globe Teleservices, Cloudcom and Sling Africa in other regions.

With more than one billion downloads and over 500 million active users globally, Truecaller said its platform identified 68 billion spam and fraud calls in 2025 alone, underscoring the growing demand for secure and trustworthy communication tools.

Analysts note that by leveraging its large user base and verification infrastructure, Truecaller is seeking to carve out a stronger role in enterprise communications—an increasingly competitive space dominated by messaging platforms, telecom providers and emerging fintech-driven communication tools.
