Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has lauded President Bola Tinubu for creating a conducive environment for state governments to drive development, saying the administration’s policies have empowered governors to deliver meaningful improvements in the lives of their citizens.
Speaking at the BusinessDay States Competitiveness and Investment Readiness Awards in Abuja on Thursday night, Alia said the support provided by the Tinubu’s administration has strengthened the capacity of governors to implement people-oriented programmes and drive economic growth.
The governor, who received an award at the event, also explained his preference for a low-profile approach to leadership, stressing that public office should be defined by impact rather than fanfare.
“I do not believe in unnecessary noise. Leadership is about delivering results and transforming the lives of the people. Our focus remains on development and service,” he said.
Alia commended BusinessDay for organising the event and providing a platform to showcase the achievements of state governments across the country.
He dedicated the award to the people of Benue State, describing them as the driving force behind his administration’s successes.
He thanked residents for their continued support and confidence in his government.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to expanding development initiatives across the state and ensuring that the citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Alia received the Infrastructure Development and Urban Renewal Award for his administration’s extensive investments in roads, bridges, water supply systems and urban renewal projects aimed at boosting economic activities and improving public service delivery in Benue State.
