Tinubu swears in Walson-Jack, as Head of Service, presides over FEC

President Bola Tinubu on Monday swore in Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Federal Civil Service, as he presides over the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The council also held a valedictory session in honour of the outgoing Head of Service Folasade Yemi-Esan.

The President briefly remarked that the new Head of Service is stepping into a big shoe left behind by the outgoing Yemi-Esan.

The President prayed that God would guide the new Head of Service with wisdom to lead the service right.

The President commended the outgoing Head of Service for her exceptional tenure adding that “we must thank her for serving our nation exceptionally well, with dedication, efficiency and professionalism in the federal civil service.

“We express our gratitude for her unwavering commitment to the service of the nation.”

George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, also commended the outgoing HoS for her dedication to duty and genuine concern for enhancing the performance of the civil servants in the country.

He said the outgoing Head of Service has been instrumental in evolving policies that strengthened the performance in the federal civil service, adding that she is leaving “behind a legacy of excellence for the civil servants to follow.”
