President Bola Tinubu has described the death of Cairo Ojougboh, former Executive Director at the Niger Delta Development Commission, as ” unfortunate.”

The President said he received the news of the former All Progressive Congress APC member with a heavy heart.

BusinessDay gathered that Ojougboh, a former member of the House of Representatives (2003-2007) and a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, passed on shortly after he collapsed following the penalty kick that led South Africa to equalised Nigeria’s goal, during the match.

President Tinubu, who condoled with the Ojougboh family and the government and people of Delta State over this tragic loss, prayers God Almighty to grant the family fortitude to bear the loss.

He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed and God’s comfort for his family, even as he urged “them to find strength and hope in God Almighty, who presides over the affairs of men, as well as in the cherished memories and legacy of the late APC chieftain.”
