…urges team to bring home gold
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has hailed the Super Falcons, Nigeria’s national female team, for their qualification for the 2024 Olympics in France.
The female national team qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games, breaking a 16-year-old jinx, after seeing out Bayana Bayana of South Africa in a goalless encounter to win 1-0 on aggregate, on Tuesday.
Tinubu, who described the victory as “no small feat”, commended the team for their perseverance and commitment which have truly paid off.
“Your hard work, resilience, and team spirit have brought glory to Nigeria and inspired countless young girls across the country to pursue their dreams fearlessly.
“I am so proud of all your achievements. Your journey doesn’t end here; it’s just the beginning of an even greater adventure.
The First Lady also charged the team to make Nigeria proud, by “Bring home the gold.”
