Tinubu appoints heads of agencies in Humanitarian Ministry 

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, approved the appointment of seven heads of strategic agencies and programmes under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said in a statement, that the appointments were made to facilitate the needed relief to Nigerians and ensure the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programmes,

The President named Badamasi Lawal, as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). Lawal who holds a doctorate in education, had previously served as a commissioner in Katsina State.

The President also approved the appointment of Funmilola Olotu, as the Programme Manager of the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office

Olotu holds a master’s degree in business administration. Until her appointment, she has served as the  Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.

The President also appointed Aishat Alubankudi, as the Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups. Alubankudi who holds a bachelor’s degree in community development, has experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.

Others include Aderemi Adebowale, who was appointed as the Programme Manager of, the Home Grown School Feeding program

According to Ngelale, ” Princess Adebowale holds a doctorate, and currently serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and previously served as a local government chairperson, before her present appointment

Others include  Abdullahi Imam, who joins the team as Programme Manager of, the National Cash Transfer Office

Imam holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and has served as chief accountant, at Northern Dairies Ltd, and as a bank manager.

The President also appointed Ayuba Gufwan, as the Executive Secretary of, the National Commission for People with Disabilities

Gufwan who holds an LLB Degree,  is the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Jos.

Lami  Bello was also appointed as the Director General of, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons

Binta holds a master’s degree in public administration and has served as the Secretary-General of ALGON, Permanent Secretary of, the Federal Ministry of Health, as well as Permanent Secretary of, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

The statement said the “President expects the new heads of these critical agencies and programmes to discharge the functions of their offices with utmost integrity and diligence to ensure that Nigerians, especially vulnerable groups, are the exclusive and direct beneficiaries of his administration’s reconfigured welfare programmes.”
