Nigerian makeup artist and entrepreneur Theresa Emegwara popularly known as Tesglam has received her Guinness World Records plaque and medal after confirmation of her attempt for the longest continuous makeup application by one person.

The attempt took place at Landmark in Lagos. Over six days, Tesglam applied makeup for 146 hours and worked on more than 200 faces. The process demanded focus, planning, and stamina. Supporters followed the process at the venue and through online platforms, with members of the beauty space and the wider public taking part through visits, messages, and prayers.

After the confirmation, Tesglam spoke about the meaning of the record. She said, “This record represents discipline, faith, and the power of community. What carried me through wasn’t just skill, but the people who showed up, prayed, checked in, and believed. This belongs to all of us.”

During the attempt, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth paid a visit to the venue. After the record was confirmed, the commissioner sent a message of congratulations and spoke about the role of young Nigerians in setting world records through skill and persistence.

The presentation of the plaque brings the validation process to an end. It also marks a turning point in Tesglam’s career, which includes work in fashion, editorial projects, brand campaigns, and direction roles.

Tesglam plans to focus on training, shared beauty sessions, and partnerships that support growth within Nigeria’s beauty and culture space. Her record shows how work done in Lagos can gain recognition beyond the country through planning, commitment, and shared effort.
