NDLEA officers

Suspected hoodlums on Wednesday attacked and set ablaze the Benin Office of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The hoodlums set the office ablaze after looting the warehouse containing cannabis, hard drugs and intoxicating substance.

The hoodlums who hijacked the #EndSARS protest in Upper Sapkonba in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of the State, where the NDLEA office is situated, looted its warehouse containing seized cannabis and other hard substances as well as destroyed several impounded vehicles parked in the premises.

Some persons in the community said the office was burnt by the hoodlums, and not members of the #EndSARS movement.

According to a source, the NDLEA office is not a place that has valuables that any right thinking person would like to loot except for contraband goods like cannabis and other dangerous substances used by criminal minded person.

A source close to the office who confirmed the incident described it as unfortunate.
