Supacash has launched a Valentine campaign to change how love is shown during the season in Nigeria. The campaign, known as the #100kSmilesChallenge, centres on acts of giving within communities instead of gift exchange between partners.

The initiative seeks to reach 100,000 people through cash gifts shared through the Supacash app. It began on February 3, 2026, and will run until Valentine’s Day.

Users are encouraged to send ₦1,000 to at least five people using the platform giveaway feature. This allows one payment to be shared through one link. Recipients receive funds after the link is claimed and do not need to download the app to access the money.

Supacash says the campaign reflects shifts in how people approach Valentine celebrations, as many face pressure from expenses and income limits. The company says transfers of ₦1,000 can still carry meaning and reach people at scale.

“Valentine has largely become a high-spend, one-to-one affair,” said Overcomer Idemudia, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Supacash. “We want to show that spreading love doesn’t have to be expensive or exclusive. With small amounts, many people can feel seen and supported.”

By allowing giveaways to be shared through platforms such as WhatsApp, the company uses habits people already practice to support participation.

Supacash says the campaign aligns with its goal to enable tracking and verification in giving and receiving money. The effort continues today.
